After years of environmental graphics, I’ve found myself wanting to build the architecture itself. These studies are my way of shifting from 2D design into full 3D environments.

Since I studied film at MICA, I treat these SketchUp models like movie sets. I build the space at a 1:1 scale, then "photograph" it by finding the right lighting and composition. I use generative Ai to handle the final textures and lighting over my own 3D models. It’s a mix of my love for movies and my interest in how buildings are actually constructed. I see these as more than just renders; they are an exercise in spatial storytelling.
The Breeze Block Carport
The Breeze Block Carport | Reference Study An exploration of mid-century utility spaces, using a Portland carport featured in Dwell as the architectural reference. This study focuses on repetitive geometric patterns and 1:1 structural specifications.
Washitsu Study | Narrative & Light
A study in traditional Japanese proportions and interior shadows. Using a 1:1 SketchUp model as the foundation, I used generative tools to explore a surrealist narrative inspired by cinematic world-building.
Loveless Diner | Brand & Atmosphere
A study in Googie architecture and signage. I built this 1:1 SketchUp model to explore the sharp angles and geometry of mid-century diners. I treat the scene like a movie set, using the lighting and the mountain view to tell a story.
